Treatment of periodontitis

Periodontitis is a disease that concerns all periodontal tissues (root cementum, periodontal ligament, gingiva, alveolar bone). Essentially it is the evolution of gingivitis. It may be classified as generalized or localized in extent and early, moderate or advanced in gravity. In the dental clinic we practice all techniques of non-surgical and surgical treatment of periodontitis. Surgical treatment of periodontitis is more frequent in more advanced forms of the disease. Like gingivitis, regular re-exams should be scheduled in periodontitis patients.
