Teeth whitening

Teeth whitening makes the teeth brighter, whiter and the smile more beautiful.

A prerequisite for teeth whitening is cleaning the teeth and removing tartar and pigmentations, as well as restoring the health of the gingiva. Note that any restorations and fillings may need to be repeated after the bleaching has finished in order to achieve chromatic uniformity.

Teeth whitening can be performed at home with the aid of individual custom made splints, in which we the bleaching agent is placed. It is a safe, effective and easy method. The splints are applied to the teeth for a certain amount of time according to the instructions given by the clinician. The whole procedure usually lasts from 1 to 2 weeks.

Chairside teeth whitening is done by means of a special lamp to activate the bleaching agent. The bleaching of the endodontically treated teeth is done in a different way and it is performed by a specialized dentist (endodontist). It usually lasts 3 to 5 weekly appointments.
